About the Benefits
The Faculty of Community Services Society (FCSS) small Levy Fee of $30.00 per (Fall/Winter) semesters will not only benefits us students on a faculty-level but also inside our individual programs.
Read below at what the benefits are for your program, that the FCSS is able to provide you starting next fall when you choose YES in the referendum!

Experiential Community Projects
Once the FCSS secures a levy, Urban Planning students are able to propose, implement, and create different community projects ranging from Community Gardens, space programing, enaging with different schools, and more. These projects inspire future youth to take action, and can help foster connections within the community for your own professional development skillsets. #GetMoreFCS
Social Unifying Events
Once the FCSS secures a levy, Urban Planning students will be able to come together for more social events such as semi-formals, graduation galas, friendship making, art classes, and go on different excursions such as zip lining, camping, and karaoke.
Paid Placements for All
As Urban Planning students, we believe you should be paid to do placements. The FCSS has a plan in place to get Urban Planning students paid placements in two years once we secure the levy. Plus making it mandatory for all Urban Planning students to do placements. Make sure to vote yes on RAMSS November 7-9. #GetMoreFCS
LEED Training Covered
Urban Planning students who want to get LEED Certified will be able to do it for free through a levied student society. Make sure to vote yes on RAMSS November 7-9. #GetMoreFCS
Urban Planning Course Union Funded
The TMAPS is underfunded with a small budget of $0.00 a year. Your money will go into fundng the TMAPS with a $10,000+ budget to put on professional events, and be prepaired to advocate for you on a program level. Make sure to vote yes on RAMSS November 7-9. #GetMoreFCS
Urban and Regional Planning Clubs Funded
Urban Planning Clubs are underfunded with budgets being $0.00 each year. Your money will go into fundng the Urban Planning clubs with a $4,000+ budget to put on the good work they do, and events. #GetMoreFCS
Annual Job Networking, and Job Fair
Urban Planning students deserve to get hired in student planning jobs during their time here at the university. Making sure they are building up our skillsets to stand out with revelant work experience. The FCSS will host program specfic job and networking fairs for Urban Planning students. #GetMoreFCS
Annual Mock Interview Nights
Urban Planning students deserve to be prepaired when going through the public planner highering process. Mock Interviews will help Planning students be pre-paired for jobs. #GetMoreFCS Vote yes on RAMSS November 7-9, 2022.

Public Art
Urban Planning students are Creatives in the Community Care fields and the FCSS recognizes as such. The FCSS wants to fund public art projects, parkette design competition projects, community gardens, and more that Urban Planning students design both on campus and off campus. #GetMoreFCS Vote yes on RAMSS November 7-9, 2022.
Student Leadership Awards
FCSS strongly believes students should earn recognition for the amount of hours they put into their student experience that makes an impact in someone else's experience. Group Conference Trips Covered
FCSS will fund up to 100% for external Conferences & Competitions
Student competitions are a key component of student life and learning at the Faculty of Community Services (FCS) and Toronto Metropolitan University which has not been offered in over a decade due to limited funding. Competitions allow FCS students to experience ‘real world’ health challenges in competitive learning environments, while presenting to industry professionals. Students who participate in conferences and competitions have a richer educational experience overall; the training, collaboration and competition experience are all important learning opportunities that prepare FCS students to thrive in the Healthcare, Medical, Community Health, Global Health, Public Policy, and Community Care world post-graduation.

Emergancy Urban Planning Student Grants
The next time we enter a pandemic, epidemic or emergency situation. Or when Urban Planning students are going through financial hardships... there will always be a fund available to students to use. #GetMoreFCS
Networking with Urban Planning students across the Country, and Internationally.
The Faculty of Community Services Society has connections with UBC SUS, UC Berkley, UCLA, and a variety of institutions with planning, and urban design programs across North America. The FCSS will help connect you with students, travel expenses, and stay expenses for planning competitions with these students. These events will be expanded, and foster innovation among planning programs. #GetMoreFCS
Studio Kits Paid For
The FCSS once we secure a levy will pay for all future years first year drafting kits for studio. So first years do not have to spend out of pocket for materials that should be covered in your tuition. #GetMoreFCS
