Thesis Building Workshops

Child and Youth Care students need thesis help, and research help. The Faculty of Community Services Society (FCSS) will run every year, each semester once a levy is secured workshops on thesis writing, literature review, and draft progress workshops. Frosh Loan Program.

Did you pay to attend frosh this past year? Did you know you paid for a loan? The loan outlined in the ticket process stated that you'll be refunded the entire price of the ticket once the FCSS secures a levy from FCS students. CPR Training Covered

Are you sick of having to pay out of pocket for CPR training? This new levy will cover this out of pocket fee so you will never have to worry about paying out of pocket again within your time here at the FCS. #GetMoreFCS

Paid Placements for All

Did you know the FCSS is in the advocacy position to get the CYC program and all FCS programs paid placements for all? This is one of the main priorities of the FCSS once the levy is secured within the first three years. #GetMoreFCS

Having A Child and Youth Care Course Union

Who do CYC students go to for advocating on extended deadlines, rude professors, course curriculum changes, and running specific CYC related events? CYC students are missing an oppurtunity to have an advocacy body on the prgram level. The FCSS will ensure a CYC CU is rebuilt from ground up has a $10,000+ budget to do events, and host fair elections each year. #GetMoreFCS

Child and Youth Care Clubs Funded

The new law will allow all current and new CYC clubs formed to receive up to $4,000 a year for the good initiatives and good work they provide to the undergraduate student community. #GetMoreFCS

Interdisciplinary Workshops

Child and Youth Care stuudents diserve to get hands on skills within similar professional fields within the Faculty of Community Services in order to build up their profolio, and resume. These workshops will go over important skillsets. #GetMoreFCS

Annual Job Networking, and Job Fair

CYC students deserve to get hired during their time here at the university, making sure they are building up their skillsets to stand out with revelant work experience. The FCSS will host program specfic job and networking fairs for CYC students. #GetMoreFCS

Annual Mock Interview Nights

CYC students deserve to be prepaired when going through the hiring, and teachers college process. Mock Interviews will help CYC students be pre-paired for both scenarios. #GetMoreFCS Vote yes on RAMSS November 7-9, 2022.

FCSS strongly believes students should earn recognition for the amount of hours they put into their student experience that makes an impact in someone else's experience. Group Conference Trips Covered 100%

FCSS will fund up to 100% for external Conferences & Competitions

Student competitions are a key component of student life and learning at the Faculty of Community Services (FCS) and Toronto Metropolitan University which has not been offered in over a decade due to limited funding. Competitions allow FCS students to experience ‘real world’ health challenges in competitive learning environments, while presenting to industry professionals. Students who participate in conferences and competitions have a richer educational experience overall; the training, collaboration and competition experience are all important learning opportunities that prepare FCS students to thrive in the Healthcare, Medical, Community Health, Global Health, Public Policy, and Community Care world post-graduation. #GetMoreFCS

Emergency CYC Student Grants
